1. ORPT (Oily, Resistant, Pigmented, Tight)

ORPT is a skin type that can maintain a heathy skin condition if one properly controls sebum secretion and pigmentation. So, it is a type that is relatively easy to take care of. Because it is not sensitive to cosmetic products, most functional cosmetics including anti-wrinkle or whitening can be used. The firm and healthy stratum corneum is acceptable to dermatologic treatment, and skin troubles are barely caused by cosmetic products. However, since inflammation or acne may occur due to the residue of products, it is important to thoroughly wash both hair and face when using shampoo.

2. ORNT (Oily, Resistant, Non-pigmented, Tight)

ORNT skin types have healthy skin most of the time, but excess sebum may cause acne or inflammation from time to time, and wide pores or blackheads may be some issue. In general, anti-aging products contain a lot of oil which would increase sebum and comedones so one must be careful. Because it is a skin type that barely experiences wrinkles and pigmentation, it is recommended to select oil-moisture balancing products.

3. OSPT (Oily, Sensitive, Pigmented, Tight)

No concerns about lowered elasticity and fine wrinkles are observed most of the time, but this skin type secretes a lot of sebum so the skin becomes oily and is sensitive to pigments so that dark circles might occur around the eyes. Excess sebum easily induces acne which develops into inflammation and leaves an acne scar. So, it is important to prevent and treat inflammation on the face. Recommended products are the ones that include salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and binterin peptide which can control sebum secretion and improve inflammation. Due to the sensitiveness of the skin, make sure to check ingredients whether they are irritative to the skin or not.

4. OSNT (Oily, Sensitive, Non-pigmented, Tight)

OSNT skin types don’t burn easily by sunlight and have excellent skin elasticity and fewer fine wrinkles compared to one’s age. However, the high amount of sebum secretion may cause inflammation and redness from acne. It is recommended to avoid exposure to sunlight for a long time because it would increase the skin temperature and activate sebum secretion to worsen acne and redness. When using cosmetic products, focus on the oil-moisture balance of the skin to prevent inflammation and sebum control, but confirm if there are any irritable ingredients to sensitive skin.

5. ORPW (Oily, Resistant, Pigmented, Wrinkled)

ORPW types are prone to pigmentation due to skin troubles and UV rays, so one must take care of inflammation and UV blockage in everyday life. This skin type wrinkles easily, but compared to dry and sensitive skin, it wrinkles at a later age because of its oiliness and firm stratum corneum. Still, as sebum secretion is reduced by aging, fine wrinkles develop so anti-wrinkle care is a must. You can use most cosmetic products containing high-enriched anti-aging ingredients, and no side effects from dermatologic treatments are observed most of the time. The consistent application of products with high-enriched antioxidizing and anti-aging ingredients such as EGF/FGF is highly recommended.

6. ORNW (Oily, Resistant, Non-pigmented Wrinkled)

This skin type experiences acne or skin troubles occasionally, but it has a healthy skin condition most of the time. However, because there are many cases where people get fine wrinkles in their early 30s due to indifferent skincare, it is recommended to do skin moisturization and anti-wrinkle care well. Compared to other skin types, it is not sensitive to high intensity dermatologic treatment, so it is relatively free to receive any treatments. Also, side effects are barely observed from using high-enriched anti-aging products so you can try many different products without an issue.

7. OSPW (Oily, Sensitive, Pigmented, Wrinkled)

It is sensitive to irritation and prone to pigmentation from skin troubles and wrinkles, so this skin type is rather difficult to take care of. Thus, you should provide the finest care than any other skin type. Recommended products include the ones that contain binterin peptide which improves sebum control and inflammation and is non-irritating to your skin. The constant use of anti-wrinkle functional products is recommended, but since the skin is sensitive it is necessary to check if there are irritating ingredients. Sunscreens are a must, and physical sunscreens with less oil are recommended.

8. OSNW (Oily, Sensitive, Non-pigmented, Wrinkled)

This skin type is prone to acne, inflammation, and skin aging due to a high amount of sebum secretion. It is essential to prevent skin aging by constantly using products containing antioxidating or anti-wrinkle ingredients. Salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and binterin peptide are recommended ingredients that enhance sebum control and inflammatory conditions, and make sure you check if there are any irritable ingredients in the products because of sensitive skin.
