1. DRPT (Dry, Resistant, Pigmented, Tight)

DRPT is not sensitive skin but it may experience dead skin cells or an itchiness from dry skin due to the change of seasons. It is prone to pigmentation due to skin troubles, scars, or UV rays so one must take good care of skin trouble and UV blockage. For DRPT skin type, it is recommended to use moisturizing, UV blocking, and whitening products. Because cosmetic products containing whitening functional ingredients may dry your skin, it is recommended to choose products containing moisturizing ingredients or use moisturizing products together.

2. DRNT (Dry, Resistant, Non-pigmented, Tight)

DRNT is referred to as the best skin type which experiences the least skin concerns. Most of the cosmetic products are fine to use, but it is recommended to avoid sebum controlling products for oily skin. People with DRNT skin type should keep their skin moisturized, and moisture supply allows you to retain healthy skin. So, moisturizing products that include hyaluronic acid, olive oil, jojoba oil, and adiponin peptide which all have hydrating effects are recommended.

3. DSPT (Dry, Sensitive, Pigmented, Tight)

DSPR is a skin type that is easily dried and pigmented depending on the temperature and humidity changes in different seasons. UV blockage and skin barrier strengthening are two important requirements. One must use sunblock regardless of the seasons, and it is recommended to use products containing aloe vera and binterin peptide that have moisturizing and soothing functions, shea butter and adiponin peptide which are effective in moisturizing, and niacinamide, winhibin peptide, and mitefin peptide which are whitening ingredients. Because DSPT types are sensitive to aroma oils, one should be careful when using them.

4. DSNT (Dry, Sensitive, Non-pigmented, Tight)

DSNT skin types have dry and sensitive skin but experience relatively fewer concerns about pigmentation and wrinkles. So, it is recommended to use moisturizing products rather than highly nourishing or highly functional products. If the skin barrier is damaged, skin gets even drier so one must take special care of the skin barrier. For the strengthening of the skin barrier, it is recommended to use products comprised of ceramide, cholesterol, free fatty acids and other that form the lipid of the skin barrier or adiponin peptide which induces the synthesis of the skin barrier inside your skin.

5. DRPW (Dry, Resistant, pigmented, Wrinkled)

DRPW types tend to have dry skin and are prone to wrinkles. So, most of the time they relatively have more wrinkles on the forehead, eye areas, and nasolabial fold compared to the same age. Especially, because the skin may get easily dried and thus show more wrinkles due to the cold wind and heating system during the winter, one should take more care in winter. Avoid going to the sauna or using steamed towels and maintain a suitable level of humidity by using a humidifier. Make sure to constantly use products containing shea butter for moisturizing or vitamin C and EGF/FGF peptides for anti-pigmentation or anti-wrinkle.

6. DRNW (Dry, Resistant, Non-pigmented, Wrinkled)

DRNW types rarely show acne, skin troubles, or pigmentation so they are less concerned about their skin until their mid-30s. However, since wrinkles may show more due to the rapid reduction of sebum secretion from the mid-30s, it is recommended to use products that enhance the moisture supply and skin elasticity. Some great products include anti-aging creams or facial masks complete with moisturizing and anti-wrinkle ingredients, and it is also recommended to receive anti-wrinkle treatment for fine wrinkles if you’re not sensitive to dermatologic treatments because of the firm stratum corneum.

7. DSPW (Dry, Sensitive, Pigmented, Wrinkled)

DSPW is a skin type that would suffer from various kinds of skin concerns such as skin dryness, itchiness, irritation from cosmetic products, fine wrinkles due to aging, pigmentation from UV rays, etc. Hence, it requires the finest care than any other skin type. It is essential to use sunscreen, and you must take strict care by applying the sunscreen every 2~3 hours. Fortunately, this skin type shows much better skin improvement results if one focuses on moisturizing and skin barrier strengthening. Recommended products include ceramide, cholesterol, free fatty acids and other ingredients that form the skin barrier or adiponin peptide which induces synthesis of those ingredients inside the skin. Also, skin-soothing ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, rosemary, centella asiatica, binterin peptide, and others are recommended options. For anti-pigmentation and anti-wrinkle care, licorice root extract, green tea extract, grapeseed extract, and others that irritate the skin less are effective. For cleansing products, lotion or balm type products are recommended over foam cleansers with a high cleansing ability.

8. DSNW (Dry, Sensitive, Non-pigmented, Wrinkled)

DSNW skin types have thin, sensitive skin and lots of dead skin cells so they might feel irritated by using new products. What is most important is to take care of the skin barrier because the skin becomes more sensitive if the skin barrier is damaged. Use moisturizers such as a ceramide cream which contains a component that forms the lipid of the skin and reapply often when feeling dry. Make sure to avoid washing your face with hot water over 40℃ because it may worsen skin dryness and redness. Chamomile, aloe vera, and adiponin peptide are especially effective in skin soothing and moisturizing.
